Jose Basaldua is a Community Program Educator at the Menomonee Valley branch. He has a background of aquatic science and technology after studying and working in California. Jose transitioned to Milwaukee to obtain his Master's degree and be part of the green infrastructure movement. He now sparks the young minds of today while keeping adult minds kindled.

Watersheds and Sewersheds

It is that time of the year when the trees and other plants change the pigments in their leaves. The reds, yellows, and oranges (no, not the fruit) make the outdoors like a painting. On top of that, the temperatures are starting to take a dip into the chilly end of the weather pool. Don’t get me started on the snow. Let us push that back as much as possible for now. One weather phenomena that still sticks around throughout the entire year is rain.

Scenery Paintings

Nature is the ultimate canvas for inspiration. There are many different organisms with homes across a vast number of ecosystems found on this big rock we call Earth. Each organism and its home is different than the next. Well, for the most part. With this great biodiversity came a slew of colors, shape, size, and purpose in the environment. Every stroll I take outside adds to something I may or may not have seen before.
