Meet live bats from around the world – including one with a 6-foot wingspan – at this three day festival!
See the world’s largest bat, a Malayan flying fox, as well as fruit bats from Africa and Asia, vampire bats, and Wisconsin’s backyard bats.- Rob Mies, executive director of the Organization for Bat Conservation will present Bats of the World live all three days. This is a unique opportunity to come face to face with bats from around the world!
- Saturday’s Bat Science Symposium will feature bat and WNS experts from USGS National Wildlife Health Center, US Forest Service, universities and Wisconsin DNR. Presenters will address a variety of topics, including the latest white-nose syndrome research and the state’s response to the recent arrival of this devastating bat disease.
- Discover the nighttime secrets of bat biology, understand bat conservation needs and learn how you can become a citizen scientist for the DNR’s Wisconsin Bat Program.
All events are FREE. Pre-registration is highly recommended to live shows an movies due to limited seating. Registration opens on September 1.

Spend the day with bats! Enjoy Bats of the World with Rob Mies featuring live bats from around the world. Our Bat Science Symposium will feature bat biologists and researchers from around Wisconsin, with special guest Jeanna Geise, rabies survivor. Come to the screening of the movie Battle for Bats – Surviving White-nose Syndrome. Live bats will be on display. Listen to bat echolocation calls, interact with bat scientists, explore the inflatable cave. Silent auction, hands-on activities, games, crafts, and displays for all ages.
