See Winter in a Whole New Light!

I don’t know what it is about candlelight and winter, but we Wisconsinites sure seem to love the combination!

Maybe it’s the beauty of flame light glistening on fresh snow, or maybe it’s the reassurance that light *will* eventually return. Or maybe it’s just the simple nudge we need to remember that we don’t have to stay cooped up in the dark and cold of winter — a reminder that there is fun to be had on wintry evenings!

Whatever your reason, we invite you to join us on February 23 for our third annual Urban Candlelight Hike in Three Bridges Park!

Glenna grew up a mile up the river from the Riverside Park, so the Urban Ecology Center has always been important to her. Her studies and work have taken her all over the hemisphere, but her home has always been right here in Milwaukee. As Menomonee Valley Branch Manager, she is delighted to be part of the team that is working to connect a new community to the nature in their neighborhood. Her favorite things to do include hiking, exploring, cooking, singing, building forts, and trying to convince children that cockleburs are really baby porcupines!
