Cheesy Spiders
Ingredients:
- Pretzel sticks
- Raisins
- Baby bell cheese
How To:
Break the pretzel sticks in half. Stick 4 pretzel halves in each side of the cheese. Use two raisins for the eyes.
Mini Pumpkin
Ingredients:
- Mandarin orange
- Celery
How To:
Peel your orange. Cut a small piece of celery, and stick it in the top of the orange to serve as the stem.
Banana Ghost
Ingredients:
- Bananas
- Chocolate chips (you can use dark chocolate for a healthier option)
How To:
Peel a banana. Chop the banana in half (one banana makes two ghosts.) Use three chocolate chips to create two eyes and a mouth.
Creepy Crawly Eggs
Ingredients:
- Eggs
- Mayonnaise
- Mustard
- Black pitted olives
- Food coloring
How To:
Boil your eggs until the yolk inside is completely firm (at least 12 minutes). Add your boiled eggs to ice water for easy peeling. Peel your eggs and cut them in half on their long side. Scoop out the yolks and add them to a bowl. Set your egg whites off to the side or on a serving tray. Add mayo, mustard and food coloring of your choice to the bowl with your yolks. (Using green food coloring gives your eggs a terrifying twist.) Mash everything together until you get a creamy texture.
Cut a handful of olives in half for the bug’s body. You will also need to cut more olives into thin slices for the legs. Scoop your egg mixture into the egg whites. Place one halved olive in the center of each egg, then add the thin olive slices to the sides.
Jack-o'-lantern Fruit Cup
Ingredients:
- Orange (any size)
- Mixed fruit of your choice
How To:
Just like carving a pumpkin, you will need to remove the top of your orange. Scoop out the inside. (I used the juice for a smoothie so no waste here!) Carve a face into your orange. I found that using a marker to trace the face first was helpful. Fill your orange with fruit of your choosing.
Spiders on a Log
Ingredients:
- Celery
- Peanut butter
- Chocolate chips
How To:
Fill the celery sticks with peanut butter. Place a couple chocolate chips on your log. Heat up a handful of chocolate chips until they are melted. Add the melted chocolate to a zip lock bag, pushing it down to one of the bottom corners. Cut a very tiny bit on the tip of the corner. (Make sure it is a very small cut to have an easier time decorating.) Use the zip lock to pipe little legs on your chocolate chips to create spiders on the log.
