Give First this Year

Written by Urban Ecology Center

Giving Tuesday typically falls the Tuesday after Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday.

But, in this already unusual year, we thought why not flip the script on Giving Tuesday? Why not give first this year?

We're asking you to join us in Giving First on Tuesday, November 24. You can provide the resources needed to continue to offer important Urban Ecology Center programming that inspires generations to build environmental curiosity, understanding, and respect.

By Giving First this year, you can be part of a child’s success. You are providing kids an opportunity to get excited to be outside and to develop curiosity about the world around them.

It's astonishing to look back and see all of the ways we've had to change this year. As we pivoted to online resources, our mission stayed the same – to connect people in cities to nature and each other.

The community is turning to the Urban Ecology Center to provide safe, green spaces where they can find respite and healing. But increased park usage means more resources are needed for our land stewardship to maintain safe, natural green spaces

A continuing request for virtual environmental education means more resources are needed for our Neighborhood Environmental Education Project (NEEP) / and the Preschool Environmental Education Project (PEEP) educators to adapt their programming and for our virtual content, UEC in my Backyard, to keep young minds engaged with the natural world.

Your support is needed more now than ever.

Please consider supporting the Urban Ecology Center by Giving First!
