1. Same great programming as ever, plus some brand new camps!
We’re offering all the same inquiry-based camps that people have come to love over the years, and we’ve got them for every age group, from Early Adventurers (3 & 4 year olds, accompanied by an adult), up to Biking Adventures for middle schoolers (and with our prime location along the Hank Aaron State Trail, we’re sure to have some excellent opportunities to explore!). We are also offering two brand new camps that are going to be fantastic:
Eco Art, where 3rd and 4th graders will get the chance to create nature-inspired art in all different media—some will even be created to blow away with the wind!
Urban Ecologists, where 5th and 6th graders will have the opportunity to work along side real field biologists and participate in urban wildlife research!
2. Be the first to explore a new park!
The 24-acre brownfield-turned-greenspace adjacent to the center is slated to open on July 20 of this year, so the Urban Ecology Center’s summer campers will be some of the first to get to explore Milwaukee’s newest park! They may even get the chance to plant some of the first seeds!
3. We have space!
We’ve still got room for your kiddos in all of our camps, so take your pick! And as with all of our summer camps, we have numerous scholarships available for families who qualify for free or reduced lunch, so please call (414) 964-8505 or visit this page if you’d like more information. We have reserved at least 25% of our spots for kids on scholarship. Maybe the camp you wanted to register for at Riverside was full, or maybe you just want to check out a new place—either way, we’d love to have you join us!
As always, our camps will be led by our fabulous Environmental Educators. And at MV, we are thrilled that both our educators leading camps this summer are bilingual, so we welcome both English and Spanish speakers!
The educators are ready, the park is ready, the adventures are ready…all we’re missing is you!
To find out more about summer camps at MV, go to http://urbanecologycenter.org/summercamp/ or call Sarah Rohe, Environmental Education Manager, at (414) 964-8505. (Se habla español).
We hope to see you in the Valley this summer!
