An avid outdoorsman, Josh Morby enjoys being outdoors and wants to pass this value on to his family so he started looking for ways to get outdoors that would fit into their full schedule. Living in the Washington Heights neighborhood with his wife, Rose, and his daughter, he didn’t have to look very far – Washington Park offered a convenient outdoor oasis just up the street. As the family started to use the park more often, they made a point to visit and then become members of the Urban Ecology Center.
During the three years that Josh and his family have been members, they have witnessed the impact of the Urban Ecology Center and our community partners on Washington Park. “It is impressive. The park is safer. Kids come every day to the Center after school to play and learn. Neighbors from both sides of the park connect,” Josh reflected during a recent conversation.
Wanting to support the transformation that is underway, Josh serves as Washington Park Advisory Committee Chair on the Center’s Board of Directors. “This is an exciting time to be a part of the Washington Park branch and the surrounding communities,” he states, “We are asking our neighbors and friends to help us envision the future of the Washington Park branch. I invite everyone to participate.”
Josh’s advice: Just Show Up!
